Our History

The Pleasant Prairie Renaissance School was first established in Kenosha County in September of 1995 as The Pleasant Prairie Childcare Center. It quickly gained attention as a high-quality early education facility within the community. Just three years later, in 1998, the school became the first and only child development center in Kenosha to receive accreditation from the prestigious National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) in Washington D.C.

The Pleasant Prairie Renaissance School quickly reached full capacity with a lengthy waiting list, so the school began construction of a state-of-the-art facility in 1999. In June of 1999, the new school was opened directly across the street from the Jelly Belly Candy Retail Outlet within the LakeView Corporate Park. Since then, it has established corporate partnerships with other LakeView Corporate Park businesses to provide discounted tuition to parents with children.

In August of 2000, the school was awarded a $1.2 million dollar grant from the State of Wisconsin to create a model of early childhood center of excellence for children and families within the community. The school has earned numerous awards and recognition from the State of Wisconsin since then.

The Pleasant Prairie Renaissance School is locally owned and operated by passionate educators. With many years of teaching and administrative experience within the local public school system between them, they look forward to continuing to expand their dream of pre-school, elementary school and daycare excellence within Kenosha County.
